I started by going to the InVideo website and selecting “Sign Up.” You'll need an email to create an account.

Immediately, I was taken to InVideo's AI tool, where I could generate my first video using AI! The interface is straightforward, but I watched the tutorial video for more insight and guidance.

I first gave the AI a prompt to serve as the basis for my video.

I'd highly recommend pasting a blog post link for InVideo to base the video on. InVideo will pick out the most relevant information from the article to generate a video.

Here is the detailed command I gave InVideo:

“Create a YouTube explainer video on five reasons InVideo is the best AI video generator. Keep the duration 60 seconds long. Start the video by explaining what InVideo is, followed by its features. Illustrate each feature with relevant stock clips. Keep the language simple and easy to understand. Conclude the video by listing the top three alternatives (Pictory, Synthesys, and Synthesia). Use an energetic American female voice for the voiceover. Pick points from this article: [insert article here].”

You can also use one of the workflows at the top if that makes writing the AI prompt easier. It gives you fields and more guidance on the critical information you should include in your text prompt.

Once I was happy with my prompt, I hit “Generate a video.”

InVideo began analyzing the prompt I gave it. Within a few seconds, it asked for more information, like my target audience and the look and feel of my video.

Once everything was selected, I hit “Continue.”

InVideo started generating my video, and after a few minutes, it was generated! There were a couple of things I could do here.

I could preview the video by hitting the play button. I could also edit, generate, or export it.

The edit feature is handy. Rather than exporting the video and importing it into another, more complicated video editing software like Premiere, you can:

The Generate feature allowed me to use AI text prompts to edit the video. I could move the play head within my video to the scene I wanted to edit and type out a command.

From there, I could tell it to delete a scene, change the font or duration, and swap out footage. This feature made refining my video incredibly convenient and efficient without complex editing software.

If I wasn't happy with the video, I could go to the “+” icon at the top and change my target demographic and look and feel. Doing this causes the AI to create an entirely new video draft. Luckily, InVideo did a great job on the original draft, so I didn't have to use this feature!

The final option was to export the video by selecting “Export.” Since I was on the free plan, I had to export the video with watermarks and InVideo AI branding.

The highest resolution I could export my video at was 1080p. You can export the video at 4K resolution with no watermarks or InVideo branding on the paid plans!
